Plot

Dhadak 2 is a poignant romantic drama that reimagines themes of love and caste-based discrimination, serving as both a spiritual successor to Dhadak (2018) and an adaptation of Pariyerum Perumal (2018). The story follows Suraj (Siddhant Chaturvedi), a first-generation law student from a marginalized community in a small North Indian town, who dreams of a brighter future. On campus, he meets Saanvi (Triptii Dimri), a confident and compassionate young woman from an influential upper-caste family. Their shared interests and values blossom into a tender friendship that gradually deepens into love. However, their bond provokes hostility from Saanvi’s family and community, who view their relationship as a threat to tradition and status. Suraj becomes the target of humiliation and violence, while Saanvi is torn between her love for him and the oppressive structures that bind her world. As the couple struggles against the suffocating weight of caste prejudice, their love story becomes a reflection of systemic inequalities embedded in society.
